Founding AI Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a founding engineer to co-lead our efforts in applying LLMs and other ML techniques to automate software security reasoning. You’ll help shape our product, technical direction, and team culture. This role requires strong judgment, creativity, and comfort with ambiguity as we explore the edge of automated security.

Responsibilities

• Security Reasoning: Analyze architecture, specs, and code to infer risks and generate actionable security requirements.
• Design Validation: Analyze product specs and task descriptions, written in natural language, to generate concrete security requirements and recommendations.
• Security pattern enforcement: Verify code changes align with approved security designs.
• Toolchain integration: Connect with tools like Google Docs, Confluence, Jira, GitHub, and process PDFs to ingest development artifacts.
• LLM & model engineering: Fine-tune, benchmark, and optimize LLMs for security use cases.
• Scalability & performance: Handle large-scale codebases and documentation.
• Modern engineering practices: Use IaC, write tests, follow CI/CD, and work in agile teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years in AI/ML, ideally with LLMs or autonomous agents
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with ML frameworks
• Experience with Git, IaC (e.g., Terraform), and CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions)

Bonus Points

• Experience working with security tools (Semgrep, CodeQL, Snyk).
• Experience with API integrations, SaaS, and dev tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub)
• Background in graph reasoning, semantic analysis, or symbolic AI
• Familiarity with AppSec, threat modeling, or regulated industries like fintech or healthtech
